The basic structure of an electromagnetic overhead crane is the same as that of a hook-type overhead crane, except that a DC lifting electromagnetic chuck is mounted on the hook and is used to lift magnetic ferrous metals and their products. A thyristor DC box installed in the driver’s cab converts AC power into DC power, which is then delivered to the electromagnetic chuck via a cable through a dedicated cable reel on the trolley.
